Dream big and create the future of mobility at Magna Powertrain.Job Responsibilities:Scope of PositionPlans, coordinates and directs the quality department to ensure quality on new and existing products and technology development are consistent with established standards. Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product. Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures.  Plans, promotes and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability. Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.Develop, implement and maintain policies for quality programs.  Ensure all products and processes conform to documented requirements.Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Technical or Engineering field, plus six year’s experience in the field of quality, or equivalentEducation in Statistical Process ControlSeven (7) years’ supervisory experienceWork experience in a mass production automotive environment preferredUnderstanding of PFMEA, FMEA, blueprint reading, GD&T, design of experiments (DOE), Control PlansAbility to communicate and interact well with people in all departmentsGood leadership, analytical and problem-solving skillsComplete knowledge of automotive APQP/PPAP processesHave good verbal & written communication skillsHave a command of problem-solving techniques such as Ford 8-D, GM 5-Phase methods, etc.Significant knowledge of IATF 16949.Good computer skillsStatistical abilities, & understanding of gage R&R’s, capability studiesJob Specific ResponsibilitiesDevelop strategic short and long term quality business planAccountable for the development and maintenance of strong customer relationsChampion of the company’s quality system in demonstrating and documenting conformance to customer requirementsEnsure products meet both the customer and company specificationsEvaluate process capability together with the Manufacturing and Engineering departmentsEnsure the use of capable processes for manufacturing of productsEnsure operating practices are correctly matched with production and customer requirementsParticipate in the evaluation of the design of new products for testability and reliabilityActively participate in DFME, FMEA, and PFME as requiredCreate and maintain Quality department annual budgetSupervise Quality Team department staff, setting out schedules, maintaining departmental training and conducting annual performance reviewsAssist in establishing process capabilitiesConduct validation testingSubmit ISIR samples for customer approvalTraining and development of Quality Assurance department staffParticipate in the selection and audits of potential vendors and suppliersAct as liaison between customer and the companyPrepare and conduct customer surveysCoordinate and maintain QI statusResponsible to protect own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and proceduresReject and release internal production in order to meet quality specificationsReject or accept supply of components from supplier in order to meet quality specificationsAcceptance of customer rejects and disposition in regard to quality specificationsReject or release customer sample submissionsEstablish procedures and standards in regard to Quality departmentSupport the recruiting process as requiredSupport supplier development initiativesMaintain CI focus in achieving departmental CI goalsResolving ‘meeting specification’ problems in the manufacturing areaResolving manufacturing problems by disposition non-conforming materialResolving quality problems by implementing corrective actionAccountable for the maintenance of departmental operating measuresTravel is requiredEnsure all legislative requirements of OSHA are met.Follows safety policies, practices and ensures departments compliance with safety rulesAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
