Location
This role is based at the Information Technology Services (ITS) office in Athens, Georgia, located at 2500 Daniells Bridge Road. Onsite attendance is required five days a week, and remote work is not offered for this position
This position is for permanent, full-time employment. Candidates must reside in the state of Georgia or be willing to relocate to Georgia as a condition of employment.

Job Summary
The Software Developer serves as a key technical resource within the Administrative Services Development Team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining system fixes, enhancements, and integrations for the University System of Georgia's enterprise application- OneUSG Connect (PeopleSoft HCM), GeorgiaFIRST Financials, and Augusta Financials.
This working level position bridges the gap between entry-level and senior developer roles, offering the opportunity to lead small development efforts, support production operations, and contribute technical expertise to complex problem-solving and system improvements.
Over the next several years, the Software Developer will play an important role in supporting PeopleSoft production stability while participating in the Unified ERP Project - a multi-year initiative transitioning the University System of Georgia from PeopleSoft Financials and HCM to the Workday platform. The position will ensure continuity and reliability of existing systems while gaining exposure to Workday tools, integrations, and transition activities.
Responsibilities
Application Development & Production Support
Design, develop, and maintain technical fixes, enhancements, and reports for PeopleSoft HCM, Financials, and Augusta Financials.
Provide production support for Benefits and Benefits Reconciliation processes to ensure accurate and timely operations.
Support Common Remitter (Payroll) processing, ensuring data integrity and compliance with established payroll and benefits rules.
Maintain and enhance the Human Resources Data Mart, supporting HR analytics and reporting needs.
Utilize PeopleSoft development tools such as Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Integration Broker, and Data Mover to implement and deploy system changes.
Create and maintain SQL and PL/SQL scripts, queries, and reports to support system analysis, debugging, and performance optimization.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in coordination with business analysts, functional leads, and other developers.
Assist with scheduled maintenance, testing, and deployments in adherence with ITS change management processes.
Unified ERP Project - Transition Support
S erve as a contributing technical member of the Unified ERP Technical Team, supporting the transition from PeopleSoft to Workday Financials, Procurement, and HCM.
Participate in data validation, interface analysis, and system testing to ensure successful migration and integration between platforms.
Document existing PeopleSoft integrations and data structures to facilitate accurate mapping and transition to Workday.
Assist with limited development or integration work required for maintaining system continuity during the transition period.
Gain exposure to Workday integration frameworks, reporting tools, and cloud-based architecture through training and project collaboration.
Technical Analysis, Documentation & Collaboration
Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional technical solutions.
Develop and maintain system documentation including technical specifications, configuration changes, and deployment instructions.
Collaborate closely with DBAs, system administrators, and other developers on performance tuning, data management, and release coordination.
Participate in code reviews, quality assurance testing, and post-deployment validation.
Provide peer mentorship to entry-level developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Continuous Improvement & Learning
Stay current on PeopleSoft development practices, Oracle database technologies, and cloud ERP trends.
Actively engage in professional development to build skills applicable to Workday, integrations, and data transformation.
Recommend technical and process improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development, technical support, or ERP systems administration.
Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, debugging, and performance tuning.
Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective, sustainable solutions.
Strong collaboration and communication skills for working across technical and functional teams.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining system accuracy, documentation, and compliance with change management standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting PeopleSoft HCM modules such as Benefits, Payroll, or Commitment Accounting.
Experience supporting PeopleSoft Financials modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, or Purchasing.
Familiarity with SQR, nVision, or other PeopleSoft reporting tools.
Experience working in higher education or public sector ERP environments.
Exposure to Workday or experience assisting with ERP transition or data migration projects.
Knowledge of APIs, web services, or middleware connecting ERP systems to external applications.
Experience with additional programming languages such as Java, Python, or XSLT.
Experience using PeopleSoft development tools including Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Integration Broker, and Data Mover.

KNOWLEDGE • Strong understanding of Workday integration tools (Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Web Services) and PeopleSoft technologies (Integration Broker, Application Engine, PeopleCode).
• Knowledge of data structures, APIs, web services (REST/SOAP), and secure file transfer methods.
• Familiarity with SQL, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices (source control, CI/CD).
SKILLS • Proficiency in developing and supporting Workday-to-PeopleSoft integrations and related automation.
• Skilled in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and debugging integration errors.
• Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams.
