You’ll own the entire technical lifecycle: frontend, backend, ML integration, compliance, and deployment, coordinating across engineering, product, and legal. This role requires both strategic architecture depth and hands-on leadership across the stack.

The Role We are hiring one Head of Engineering, DentalScan Feature to take full ownership of architecture, delivery, and regulatory integrity.
You will lead a multi-disciplinary team (frontend, backend, ML, and legal compliance) to bring the DentalScan product from working prototype to a fully deployable SaaS solution inside the ReplyQuick ecosystem.
Your leadership will directly define how AI integrates into healthcare operations, from scan upload UX to claim automation pipelines.
Key Responsibilities • Architect and lead all technical layers for DentalScan: frontend (Next.js), backend (Node/FastAPI), and ML (vision inference endpoints).
• Supervise Supabase schema, signed upload workflows, API structure, and RLS compliance.
• Integrate ML models into production (YOLOv8-based detection pipeline + async job queue).
• Build out HIPAA/GDPR/LGPD-compliant data handling end-to-end, including consent registry, audit trails, retention policies, encryption, and anonymization.
• Collaborate with the compliance and legal team to ensure insurance workflows (D9996) meet documentation and consent requirements.
• Own PDF generation (patient and insurer reports) and ensure reproducibility of claim data.
• Drive cross-team execution, coordinating Rahul and Tony (backend), Daki and Nikhil (frontend), ML subteam, and Mira and Harshini on compliance and copy review.
• Review code and architecture for security, scalability, and audit readiness.
• Define release phases, QA checkpoints, and technical milestones across environments.
• Report progress directly to the founding team and CTO, with accountability for end-to-end delivery.
Requirements Only apply if you meet at least 90% of these:
• 7+ years of experience leading full-stack SaaS or AI healthcare projects.
• Expert in React / Next.js, Node.js / FastAPI, and Postgres/Supabase.
• Proven record of AI model integration into production (ML ops, inference pipelines, async jobs, error handling).
• Experience implementing HIPAA/GDPR/LGPD compliance, consent handling, and medical data storage.
• Understanding of PDF and claim form generation workflows (especially D9996 or similar).
• Strong grasp of system design, data security, and RLS.
• Ability to translate specifications into sprint plans and own the full roadmap without external direction.
• Excellent communicator, capable of clear written plans, architectural diagrams, and progress reports.
• Prior experience coordinating multi-disciplinary remote teams.
• Bonus: experience with telecom or real-time messaging platforms.
