Sarasota County has experienced rapid growth and reliance on audio visual technologies. The use of these technologies is facilitating, hosting, or joining virtual meetings with team members, business partners, and citizens. In this position you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, optimizing, triaging and supporting audio video functionalities within the Board of County Commissioner conference rooms.
Design and implement AV solutions:
• Plan and execute AV setups for a variety of existing conference rooms, including virtual meetings, conferences, presentations, and live streams via the county standard, Cisco WebEx rooms. This would include the integration of the Cisco platform's continued integration with Microsoft Teams and Active Directory. Other tasks would be structured cabling, mounting and securing equipment, and supervising business partners. The overall goal is for users to have a common user experience no matter the conference room being used or location within the county.
Provide exceptional technical suppor t:
• Troubleshoot and resolve AV issues onsite, offering timely and effective solutions to ensure smooth operations.
Manage AV infrastructure:
• Maintain, monitor, and optimize AV equipment, systems, and software, ensuring they are up-to-date and functioning optimally.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams:
• Partner with EIT divisions, Facilities, Training and Development, and other teams to deliver seamless AV experiences.
Champion self-service AV:
• Develop and implement strategies to empower county employees to utilize AV tools and resources effectively. Document and promote self-help training information for county employees.
Maintain:
• Research and recommend new AV technologies and trends to enhance county's capabilities. Maintain asset inventory for AV Cost Model. Create a refresh schedule for equipment that is to be replaced due to parameters outlined in the AV Cost Model.
Specific Skills and Knowledge:
• Knowledge and experience with AV cabling requirements, category cabling, and how the standards and specifications affect AV design and architecture. Crestron programming experience is preferred to support existing Crestron equipment installed within county facilities.
• Knowledge of various AV standards and guidelines: Dante, ANSI/AVIXA, LACCD, and UCCS Design Standards. Working knowledge of AirMedia: features and functions.
Critical Importance:
• Working knowledge and experience with Cisco AV products including experienced integration with Cisco AV products and Microsoft Teams. Cisco AV product integration with third products (ex: non-Cisco mics, speakers, projectors) integrating with Cisco codecs.
• Experience designing AV systems: Small, medium, large conference rooms or projects. This position must have extensive knowledge with programming Crestron equipment (installation and repair). This would also include Extron equipment.
Hours: Typical work week is Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree AND 3 - 5 years of related experience.
• -OR- A Master's Degree AND 2 or more years of related experience.
• Experience may substitute for formal education at discretion of management.

Starting Pay Range: $27.25 - $32.70/hour, based on your experience
