Position: Assistant Plant Manager

Summary
Assists Plant Manager in directing and coordinating production activities.  By performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors utilizing specialized knowledge of product technology, production methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment.
Job Duties:
• The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
• Generates/Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates.
• Assist in planning production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for retest and manufacturing. Coordinates production schedules with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
• Manage operational schedules and helps coordinate activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
• Coordinates the review of Quality Non-Conformances.
• Ensures machines and equipment are inspected daily to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
• Ensures operating practices and procedures are followed   to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
• Coordinates with Plant Manager the production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems. Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products.
• Reviews and enforces all Safety regulations.
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training staff, evaluating employee performance, and recommends or initiates promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
Job Requirements:
• May possess formal two- or four-year degree or technical trade school education.
• Seven to ten  years of experience in service and or manufacturing.
• Management and supervisory skills and training.

Physical Demands Efforts
Work is performed equally in a production area and office environment and the employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear.
Mental & Visual Demands
Must be able to manage multiple tasks and facility operations. Must possess good analytical and reasoning skills. Must be able process large amounts of varied information. Must have confidence in own ability to multi- task with accuracy and to work with detail-oriented information.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work is in an office setting with frequent walking between production areas. While in production areas, employees are required to wear required personal protection equipment such as safety shoes, hearing protection, safety helmet and safety glasses.
