Design experiments in consultation with project investigator. Conduct relevant literature search. Conduct experiments using bench and pilot scale conventional and advanced food processing equipment. Maintain the equipment.

Position Summary:
• The Department of Food Science and Technology at the University of Georgia is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Post-Doctoral Researcher to join our interdisciplinary team focused on advancing sustainable food processing technologies.
• This is a two year funded position with continued employment based on the needs of the project as well as available funding and satisfactory job performance and progress.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position:
• Ph.D. in Food Engineering, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience with advanced food processing technologies, particularly thermal and/or non-thermal methods. Hand-on experience with bench and pilot scale equipment is highly desired.
• Strong background in experimental design, process modeling, analytical and microbiological techniques, and statistical analysis.
• Proven record of publishing impactful, peer-reviewed scientific articles.
• Excellent communication skills and willing to work collaboratively in a team-based research environment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies :
• Hands-on working experience with bench and pilot scale advanced food processing technology equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude to maintain equipment is desired.
• Process engineering theoretical and practical knowledge to characterize advance food process technology.
• Ability to contribute to multidisciplinary research supported by various extramural sponsors.

Handle equipment in both bench and pilot scale equipment and various analytical laboratory instrumentation.
