About Us

Within the USO, our administrative operations are primarily housed in the Trinity Washington Building located in downtown Atlanta. Our Information Technology Services (ITS) division is located in Athens. The University System of Georgia Shared Services Center (SSC) is located in Sandersville. The Georgia Public Library System is located in Atlanta. The Georgia Archives is located in Morrow. The State of Georgia Records Center is located in Austell.

Job Summary
This entry-level role supports the analysis of business challenges and explores how information systems can be leveraged to address them. The position contributes to data analysis efforts, delivering high-quality analytics to decision-makers across the higher education landscape to inform data-driven solutions. This position will serve as the primary production analyst and subject matter expert for DegreeWorks within the GeorgiaBEST program, supporting all University System of Georgia (USG) institutions for both cloud-based and on-premises implementations. This position will collaborate closely with Ellucian Cloud and Action Line teams to ensure timely communication and resolution of upgrades and technical issues. This position will also support the General module of the Student Information System (SIS), with a focus on Banner Managed Services institutions. This position wil fulfill the role of Campus Advocate, serving as a central point of contact for institutional concerns and ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
Responsibilities • Assists in identifying areas of in need of improvement or refinement; assists in the design and development of solutions.
• Assists in managing projects as assigned, including application upgrades.
• Assists in managing system integrations for system institutions.
• Assists in identifying and implementing appropriate testing strategies; prepares resulting test cases and scenarios; assists institutions with user acceptance testing.
• Works with users and stakeholders to define, analyze, recommend, and implement system improvements.
• Provides functional support to end users on multiple application system modules.
• Assists in developing and delivering end user training.
• Creates and updates end user documentation.
• Acts as a liaison to vendors.
• Participates in professional development activities; attend conferences and workshops.
• Responds to after-hours emergencies.
• Assists in managing change control processes as the result of upgrades, patches, customizations and change requests.
• Collaborates with other ITS departments to develop custom solutions, fixes and patches.
• Assists in designing scalable solutions to support collaborative operations.
• Prepares a variety of system reports.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor¿s degree in a related field, plus one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications • Knowledge of and experience with federal and state laws, rules and regulations impacting higher education.
• Knowledge of USG business procedures and best practices.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycles and approaches (including, but not limited to functional testing procedures).
• Knowledge of DegreeWorks processes and procedures.
• Skill in reporting and data analysis.
• Experience in student information systems software (Banner), performance analytics, continuous improvement practices, ITIL, Microsoft Office applications, and other relevant technologies.
• Experience in composing requirements gathering and specification documentation.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility to work with faculty, executive administrators, staff, students and external stakeholders.
• Exhibit a positive, professional, solutions-oriented attitude, a drive for excellence, and ability to be a team player in a pressured and fast-paced environment.
