About Us

Our Information Technology Services (ITS) division is located in Athens. The University System of Georgia Shared Services Center (SSC) is located in Sandersville. The Georgia Public Library System is located in Atlanta. The Georgia Archives is located in Morrow. The State of Georgia Records Center is located in Austell.
Location
This position requires onsite attendance at the Athens location five days a week.

Job Summary
The Lead Software Developer will lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient integrations between Workday (Financials, Procurement, HCM) and internal or third-party systems. This role bridges technical architecture with business needs, collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to optimize and extend Workday functionality while ensuring data accuracy, security, and system performance.
Responsibilities
Design & Development:
• Architect, develop, and implement integrations for Workday Financials, Procurement, and HCM using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Web Services (REST/SOAP).
• Create and maintain scalable, reusable integration frameworks and APIs.
Collaboration & Solutioning:
• Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to understand functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Proactively identify integration opportunities and recommend best-fit solutions.
Governance & Documentation:
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance across systems through sound integration strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for integration processes, technical decisions, and architecture diagrams.
Support & Optimization:
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve integration issues to ensure high system availability and minimal business disruption.
• Optimize the performance and scalability of Workday integrations, especially for large data volumes.
Leadership & Innovation:
• Serve as a technical lead for integration projects, mentoring developers and enforcing architectural standards.
• Stay abreast of Workday releases and evaluate potential impacts or opportunities for enhancement.
Required Qualifications • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 7 -10+ years of experience in enterprise integration development and architecture.
• Experience developing with Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Document Transformation, and Web Services (REST/SOAP).
• Solid experience with ERP systems in Finance, Procurement, and/or HR domains.
• Programming proficiency in Java, Python, or XSLT.
• Familiarity with middleware platforms (e.g., Dell Boomi, MuleSoft, Azure Logic Apps, SnapLogic).
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure and SaaS integration patterns.
• Proficiency with SQL and data mapping strategies.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications • Workday Integration Developer Certification
• 3+ years of direct experience with Workday integrations
• Experience in higher education or the public sector is a plus
