AMS Galaxy USA designs, installs, and services robotic dairy equipment, including automated milking, feeding, bedding, lighting, cleaning, and herd monitoring systems. What You'll Do as a Service Department Supervisor:
• Lead & support service technicians through coaching, training, and performance feedback.
• Take on a hybrid role by supervising the service department while performing basic technician service tasks.
• Estimate labor, parts, tools, and costs to plan service jobs effectively.
• Schedule & prioritize preventative maintenance, repairs, and on-call coverage.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager to allocate manpower, track backlog, and optimize resources.
• Manage spare parts inventory and improve scheduling processes for efficiency.
• Monitor KPIs, service goals, and scorecard metrics to drive team performance and effectiveness.
• Use Excel and reporting tools to plan schedules, track availability, and measure results.
• Oversee case flow by reviewing new cases, ensuring accurate documentation, and closing within 24 hours.
• Work full-time 45-50 hours per week, starting at 7:30 a.m., with limited regional travel and occasional overnight trips.
Our Ideal Service Department Supervisor:
• Experienced: 5+ years as a service technician or in the service industry with a customer-first approach and 3+ years in leadership; skilled in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial electrical systems with automated machinery experience strongly preferred. PLC/HMI programming and a degree in mechatronics are a plus.
• Leader: Hands-on leader who motivates and develops team members, fosters a customer-oriented culture, and prioritizes safety through adherence to written protocols.
• Analytical & Detail-oriented: Uses data and metrics to track performance while ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
• Relationship-driven: Builds trust with teammates and customers through clear communication, respect, and integrity.
• Tech-savvy: Proficient in MS Office with the ability to learn Oracle and NetSuite systems.
• Active: Able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
