Millwork CAD Microvellum Engineer
Job Overview
We are looking for a talented and motivated CAD Engineer with experience in the Millwork industry and Microvellum software. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Microvellum software, a strong background in engineering, and a passion for problem-solving and innovation.
Responsibilities
• Taking ownership of project submittals to approval: drawings, details, dimensions, and hardware specifications. Collaborate with Project Managers for value engineering, field dimensions, and installation.
• Collect project information from Project Managers and other senior staff to ensure production methods and materials are utilized, maintaining notes company standards. Document and ask all questions / concerns in a timely manner, utilizing our internal ERP system and MS TEAMS.
• Reading and understanding Architectural drawings, field dimensions, and site photos.
• Understand project scope and requirements. Coordinate with department Directors to produce submittal drawings efficiently as required by schedule and budget.
• Submittal revisions as required.
• Identify issues and provide possible solutions before submittal. List on drawings for Architect / designer review.
• Assist machine programmers as required.
• Release Work Orders to production teams with supporting reports and drawings as required.
Abilities
• High attention to detail.
• Confidently make decisions, work independently
• Have high communications skills both in your submittals, and in person
• Organization skills
• Understanding of AWI Millwork and AWI Millwork industry quality level standards
• Understand leveraging AutoCAD or BricsCAD with Microvellum for clean, efficient, organized, and condensed (where it applies) to submittals
• Manage and communicate issues and efficiencies with team members
Skills & Experience
• 5 Years in the Architectural Millwork Industry
• 2 to 3 years using Microvellum software for submittals and engineering
• AutoCAD or BricsCAD 4 years
• Advanced MS Excel formulations as pertains to Microvellum
• Cabinet / Millwork Shop Experience and understanding of millwork construction methods is a plus
