The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the balance of safety, health, and environmental integrity during the construction phase of our new facility and maintaining it afterward . The role is not just a responsibility but a mission to uphold the highest standards in workplace safety and environmental stewardship.

The EHS Manager will influence behavior and inspire commitment on the part of all personnel and vendors to comply with all state and federal standards while maintaining a safe work environment. The EHS Manager will provide oversite to the plant to ensure compliance with all corporate EHS programs and policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Â
• Align the plant EH&S vision with the corporate EH&S vision
• Develop and implement Plant Safety practices to create a safe working environment
• Develop and implement Plant Environmental practices to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
• Facilitates incident investigations, root cause analysis, and closure of corrective actions
• Manage Worker’s Compensation claims by investigating the circumstances of the claimed injury objectively, while minimizing costs and fraud. Act to prevent reoccurrence.
• Accompany employees on initial visits to panel physicians. On occasion, attend follow-up visits as well.
• Promote safety awareness; assist in safety and technical training
• Monitor and enforce environmental, health, and safety regulations
• Work with corporate EH&S on various projects and initiatives
• Work with Corporate Safety to develop, implement, and sustain a behavioral safety-based program and serve as a safety liaison with Corporate EH&S to ensure consistency company-wide
• Lead efforts to identify, recommend, develop, and implement best practices for safety programs and help ensure standardization company-wide
• Conduct ongoing safety inspections of facilities, operations, and equipment to ensure compliance and a safe working environment for all levels of employees
• Analyze work functions to develop safety, environmental, and ergonomic policies to ensure compliance
• Develop plant Ergonomics programs and assessments to address ergonomic issues.
• Work with engineering and perform new equipment safety assessments
• Act as a professional liaison in case of government agency inspections concerning safety, environmental, or ergonomic issues
• Maintain updated OSHA and EPA required written programs and recommend/conduct training as necessary
• Conducts Industrial Hygiene monitoring of hazards including noise and chemical exposure and works to minimize exposure.
• Administers and maintains SDS Programs.
• Develop local metrics to support and drive safety performance.
• Actively participate in assigned teams and/or projects.
• Ensures Policies are followed and guides safety-related discipline.
• Conduct and maintain JSAs to help ensure job safety.
• Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the Director of Manufacturing.

• Experience managing a Title V-permitted facility.
• Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Start-up construction safety experience highly preferred.
• Air and noise monitoring experience required.
• Confined space program management & monitoring experience required.
• Experience developing strategic plans / tracking measures to improve EHS in areas of responsibility.
• Proven experience effectively coaching and giving performance feedback and providing developmen t opportunities within the area of responsibility.
• Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to persuade and manage at all levels within the Company.
• Prove coaching and facilitation skills with a track record of successful change management. Must be proactive, creative, and a hands-on change agent.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
• Self-starter who can creatively drive continuous improvement on their initiative with minimal guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Â
• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene / Environmental Safety, or related field.
• 5 years of health and safety experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• OSHA 30 (Required)
• HSE certification preferred (CSP, CSHM, MESH, etc.)
• OSHA Train-the-Trainer Certification is preferred.
