Product Support Engineer
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or another relevant Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills and a drive for excellence.
• Ability to read and understand prints (including GD&T), routings, bills of materials, and process sheets.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply Engineering Aerospace Standards and Specifications (MIL, SAE, RTCA, International (EN), and Customer Proprietary).
• Understanding of electrical circuits and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with fabrication, assembly, and test processes, tooling, and equipment.
• Strong data collection and interpretation skills for troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in the aerospace industry.
• 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Hands-on experience with machining processes.
• Mechanical and technical background in electrical and mechanical systems with direct hands-on experience.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts, Six Sigma tools, and 8D problem-solving methods.
• Experience with PTC CREO, CATIA, SolidWorks, Configuration Control, PLM systems, and SAP.
• Fluency in French and/or Spanish.
Essential Duties:
• Apply systematic, data-driven problem-solving processes such as 8D, A3, DMAIC, and PDCA to address design and manufacturing challenges.
• Evaluate the usability of non-conforming parts, processes, and assemblies to ensure product quality and functionality are maintained.
• Support review and documentation of changes proposed by Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Suppliers, including material obsolescence evaluations in line with the company’s Change Request (CR) process.
• Participate in field event investigations.
• Assist in the development of engineering and design validation test procedures per Military, SAE, RTCA DO-160, Customer(s), and EN standards; perform testing as needed and document results with support from more experienced team members.
• Review customer technical inquiries and requests for product modifications.
• Contribute to broader engineering activities as required.
• Follow established aerospace procedures and regulations.
• Maintain regular, predictable attendance.
