Job Summary
Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Department of Secondary Education at Kutztown University invites applicants for our temporary adjunct pool in teacher education for the following areas: coursework in Principles of Teaching and Learning for secondary teacher candidates; supervision of student teaching, undergraduate and graduate coursework for the English as a Second Language (ESL) program; graduate courses for our Curriculum and Instruction MEd program; and graduate courses for our Principal and Supervisory Certificate programs. Undergraduate course offerings could be day or evening. Graduate courses are typically offered online. We are seeking colleagues who have a passion for preparing the next generation of teachers.
In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth and professional development; and service.
Minimum Qualifications
Required qualifications: a Master's degree in the field of education, at least 5 years' experience teaching in PK-12.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred: Doctorate; and at least one year of college-level teaching experience or equivalent; experience working with diverse learners; 7-12 certification(s); ESL Endorsement; Principal Certification.
Applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be certified to be placed in our part-time adjunct faculty pool and will remain in the pool while the pool is active. As need arises, applicants in the pool will be considered and contacted for an on-campus interview. During the on-campus interview, successful interview and demonstration of abilities are required to be selected.
