Job Summary
Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations.
The Department of Special Education at Kutztown University invites applications for a quarter-time position for Spring 2026. Responsibilities include teaching an undergraduate course in the visual impairment program. It can also include field student teaching supervision. Daytime teaching/supervision and a successful interview are required.
In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth and professional development; and service.
Minimum Qualifications
A master's degree in the field of visual impairment with at least five (5) years of experience in teaching students with visual impairments is required.
Preferred Qualifications
A doctorate and at least one year of college-level teaching experience or equivalent, along with experience working with diverse learners, is preferred.
ESL Endorsement, teacher of the visually impaired certification, Special Education Certification, Instructional Coaching Endorsement, orientation and mobility certification, and/or interests in teacher inquiry or action research are encouraged.
