Description
At SPL , we turn science into impact. We’re searching for a detail-oriented Sample Management Technician to join our laboratory team in Reading, PA . In this role, you’ll handle the intake, documentation, and organization of environmental samples to support compliance and decision-making. From logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to overseeing storage and distribution, your work ensures accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across the lab.

What You’ll Do
• Receive and document samples from clients, couriers, and staff;
• Verify sample conditions and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements;
• Accurately log sample details and requested analyses into LIMS;
• Label, organize, and distribute samples to laboratory teams;
• Maintain orderly and secure sample storage, retrieval, and disposal;
• Prepare sample kits and manage outbound shipments;
• Assist with inventory, supply preparation, and other support functions;
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment;
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required;
• Familiarity with basic chemistry preferred;
• Basic computer skills, including database and spreadsheet entry;
• Strong recordkeeping skills with attention to detail;
• Effective organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to perform under pressure;

• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively;

Your Schedule and The Fine Print
• Part-time position, working 3 days per week at 8 hours per day (24 hours total per week); Specific days of work will be determined in coordination with management;
• Regular and punctual attendance required.

Salary Description
$18-$19 per hour + 10% shift differential
