Position: Shipping & Receiving Operator
Location: Reading PA
shift: 2pm-10pm
Description:
• The Shipping & Receiving Operator is responsible for managing the flow of raw materials and finished goods through the facility. This includes receiving incoming shipments, preparing outbound orders, managing warehouse inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The role is critical to maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and timely support for manufacturing and sales operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Shipping & Receiving (50%) – Receive incoming raw materials and ship outgoing finished goods, including handling waste in accumulation areas. Verify accuracy of shipments and maintain documentation.
• Safety & Compliance (15%) – Participate in health, safety, security, and environmental programs, including 5S and housekeeping initiatives. Follow DOT, DHS, TSCA, and CT-PAT regulations.
• Warehouse Operations (10%) – Conduct cycle counts and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Problem-Solving (5%) – Address raw material discrepancies and work with purchasing to resolve issues.
• Inventory Management (5%) – Assist with physical inventory counts, ensuring alignment with system records.
• Cross-Functional Support (5%) – Collaborate with Customer Operations, Purchasing, and Production to ensure smooth order fulfilment and support sales activities.
Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to follow operational procedures with strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and familiarity with basic computer applications.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently (100 lbs with assistance).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in shipping & receiving, warehouse operations, or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems.
• Knowledge of regulatory shipping requirements.
