Job Duties Include
Ensure the safety of the community and the well-being of the client by
utilizing the most current research and risk management tools to
identify abnormal behaviors and assist in the development of life-long
behavior changes. Specific duties are assigned by the Director of
Community Corrections and may include but are not limited to one or more
of the following assignments: intensive supervision of adults, intensive
supervision of juveniles or facilitator of programs. Day-to-day
supervision of clients using evidence-based practices including
Effective Practice in Correctional Settings (EPICS). Prepare and
Implement Contracts, conditions and visits as ordered. Monitor progress
and performance. Provide crisis intervention. Serve as resource broker.
Conduct risk assessments to determine the level of supervision. Develop
case plans to outline supervision and treatment goals. Document and make
recommendations to move client up or down the sanctioning levels based
on policy guidelines and individual client progress. Conduct individual
or crisis intervention and/or family conference sessions. Explain and
interpret rules, regulations and laws for clients and their families
concerning situations and standards of behavior affecting their success
in the program. Combine field supervision, case management and community
partnerships to impact client accountability by imposing a range of
sanctions and services without compromising victim rights and community
order. Prepare and submit monthly reports on all assigned programs as
needed or requested. Maintain records of all supervision activities.
Collect and test urine specimens from clients. Run breath tests for the
presence of alcohol. Responsible for DNA collection for all adult and
juvenile clients as required by Law.
Requirements
**Minimum Qualifications:**
Minimum Qualifications
• Must have a High School diploma or the equivalent.
• Must have a valid Drivers License and be insurable under Saline
Countys fleet insurance policy.
• Must have a Bachelors degree from an accredited College or
University in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice or any Human
Services field plus two (2) years experience working with adults or
juveniles in probation, parole, social casework or counseling
preferred.
• Must not be registered on the Kansas Child or Adult Abuse
Registries.
• Must have knowledge of investigative and interviewing techniques.
• Knowledge of the geography of the City and County preferred.
• Must have skills in the use of a personal computer and related
software.
• Must have knowledge of psychological and sociological factors
influencing human behavior.
• Must have knowledge of State laws and procedures that pertain to the
Department and the ability to interpret social laws.
• An ability to establish and maintain effective professional working
relationships with others.
• No felony or domestic violence convictions including diversions and
expungements.
• Serious misdemeanor convictions will be evaluated including
diversions and expungements.
Physical Requirements
Determined Work Level: Level 2 Light Work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of
force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Required
walking or standing to a significant degree; or requires sitting most of
the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls.
Certificate Needed

Former military personnel or their spouse that have been verified as a
veteran under K.S.A. 73-201 will receive an interview if they meet the
Minimum Qualifications Of The Position And Successfully Pass Any
required pre-employment testing or any requirements such as licensing.

candidate will be able to competently perform the routine tasks of the
position with limited supervision by the end of the probationary period
