Position Overview:
GTI Laboratories is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Clinical Laboratory Technical Supervisor to lead our hematology and chemistry team. In addition to performing complex laboratory tests, the Technical Supervisor is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, staff development, quality and compliance oversight, and strategic initiatives within the department. This full-time leadership role offers the opportunity to drive innovation and excellence in a fast-paced and collaborative laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supervise and perform hematology and chemistry testing using established protocols and quality control procedures.
· Manage and develop laboratory staff, providing coaching, mentorship, training, and performance evaluations.
· Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other relevant standards.
· Oversee quality assurance, safety protocols, and document control systems.
· Lead strategic planning initiatives and assist in developing and implementing new services.
· Maintain accurate laboratory records, review test results, and ensure timely and precise reporting.
· Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation, including Beckman analyzers (Access 2)
· Perform and oversee accurate manual differentials on peripheral blood smears and identify abnormal and normal cell morphology.
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support organizational goals and service delivery.
· Manage budgetary needs, including financial planning, resource allocation, and cost control.
· Complete special projects assigned by laboratory director(s), administrator(s), or operations manager(s).
· Stay current with industry best practices and technological advances through ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
· Hematology or general clinical chemistry is a required and molecular/toxicology will not qualify you
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
· At least 4 years of training and/or experience in high-complexity testing.
· Minimum of 4 years of laboratory experience required.
· Minimum of 4 years of general supervisor-level training and experience must be in the designated discipline (hematology and/or chemistry).
· Previous experience in chemistry and hematology (manual differentials) required.
· Demonstrated leadership, team management, and decision-making abilities.
· Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including microscopy, quality control, and equipment troubleshooting.
Pay & Benefits:
· Annual salary: $95,000 per year
· Full-time position: Tuesday through Saturday; 11 AM until 7 PM
