Duties/Responsibilities
Photography
• Manage overall workflow of photography unit by performing administrative tasks such as prioritizing workflow and assignments, meeting publication deadlines, archiving images, requesting photographic and computer equipment purchases, and scheduling.
• Learn new media and photographic technologies and techniques through research, webinars, and/or workshops.
• Perform photographic work related to editorial, news, documentary, illustrative, event, environmental and studio portraiture, corporate and industrial photography.
• Collaborate with editor, art director, dean, communication personnel and others to produce unit and campus publications, news releases, website, multimedia, and social media posts by creating, executing, and editing photographic images.
• Compose and frame shots, applying the technical aspects of light, lenses, film, filters, and camera settings to achieve the effects sought by directors.
• Conduct quality control of imaging to ensure compliance with local and national imaging standards and coordinate digital imaging workflow.
• Create original interior text designs for books after analyzing content, structure, editorial, and design requirements.
• Design jackets and covers for scholarly, trade, and creative works with sensitivity to current design trends and content and market of book.
• Observe sets or locations for potential problems and to determine filming and lighting requirements.
• Adjust positions and controls of cameras, printers, and related equipment to change focus, exposure, and lighting.
Percentage of time 40 Duties/Responsibilities
Graphic Design
• Manage the graphic design and maintenance of printed materials including researching for cost efficiencies, collaborating with print professional, and student worker to ensure that materials are in compliance with standards.
• Manage the production of materials that will be used in exhibits which includes graphic design.
• Serve as art director to provide design guidance for visual and aesthetic identity and evaluate and critique work of freelance and in-house designers.

Quality Control
• Review proofs, edit, color correct, scan, and reformat for output to computers, scanners, printers, and related software.
• Scan materials for patrons, staff, and internal projects including managing quality control of scans
• View films to resolve problems of exposure control, subject and camera movement, changes in subject distance, and related variables.

The Digital Production student assistant will assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Production and Digital with a wide variety of media projects, with a specific focus on the new media and photography. This individual will manage all workflow of photography unit and serve as art director to provide design guidance.
Essential Job Functions
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position
• Work with Sport Social Liaisons and Social Media and Digital Strategy staff to conceive, shoot, and produce high quality digital and social video content for UGAA teams, games, events, and team services.
• Use Adobe Creative Suite to assemble, edit, process, color correct, format, and export video projects from start to finish.
• Work with GBSM Video Production team to assist with and augment their coverage of UGAA teams.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant AD for Production and Digital
