Minimum Qualifications
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree. Active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credentials and be eligible for dietitian licensure in Georgia. Sports-specific nutrition knowledge and have experience working with high-level athletes in a collegiate setting. At least one to two years of related experience in a sports nutrition program.
Position Summary
The Performance Nutritionist will provide comprehensive nutritional services to the University of Georgia Athletic Association ( UGAAA ) men's and women's basketball programs. This employee will be responsible for performance nutrition education and counseling for individual basketball student-athletes. The employee is expected to collaborate with a range of UGAAA staff members (including but not limited to physicians, athletic training, athletic coaching, strength and conditioning, mental health, operations, academics, and administration) and a variety of outside foodservice vendors.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Knowledge of nutrition principles as they relate to health and human performance and have experience working with high level athletes, preferably in a collegiate setting. Experience with body composition analysis and medical nutrition therapy case management.
Physical Demands
Bending, stooping, seeing, lifting a minimum of 25 lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but escalates to high during practice and athletic competitions.

3. Interdisciplinary work
• Collaborate and communicate with Sports Medicine, Sports Performance, Mental Health and Performance, and other departments within the UGAAA
