Employment Type:Full timeShift:Evening ShiftDescription:Sterile Processing Tech - Team Lead- Evening Shift - FT-- Sterile Processing Department - St. Mary's Hospital - Athens, GA.Position Purpose:The Sterile Processing Tech/Team Lead will work in the Sterile Processing Department at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens GA.What you will do:The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for handling daily activities of sterilizing devices, tools, and equipment used in surgical procedures.Responsible for providing safe and efficient indirect care of the perioperative patient. This is achieved through performing the decontamination, preparation, packaging, sterilization and distribution of hospital instrumentation, as well as supplies and equipment for all Surgical Services.Communication to the Operating Room regarding daily operational needs. Staffing assignments SPD/Decontamination. Monitoring colleague performance. Workflow efficiency for the entire Sterilization process. Surgical instrumentation preparedness for all surgical cases. IUSS preventionTurnover prioritiesWhat you will need:Education: Minimum requirement high school graduate. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM).Qualifications: Computer proficiency required. Excellent written and oral skills.Must possess ability to coach, educate & create positive teamwork. Required within 6 months of onboarding; prior certification is preferred.Experience: Two years experience in another Central Sterile Processing Area preferred. Minimum three years’ experience in Sterile Processing.Special Qualifications: Knowledgeable in basic aseptic techniques, knowledgeable of the Sterilization process of equipment and supplies and knowledgeable of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies.
