Job Description
Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs.
This position will provide guidance, training, and backup to the cashiers to ensure college needs are met in student accounting and customer service, ensure deposits are made at the bank daily, handle customer service for student accounts needing research and problem-solving, maintain and upload debt setoff files with the Department of Taxation as well as manage claims, create and send invoices for third-party billing, coordinate collections of past due student and corporate accounts, support accounting staff with Nelnet Campus Commerce, including payment plans, payments, and direct deposits, ensure scholarships are applied to student accounts, invoices are sent as appropriate, and scholarships are paid to the state account. This position will also post bookstore charges and access fees to student account when needed, reconcile, and pay invoices from the bookstore.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of business English and mathematics, office equipment usage, computer usage and filing systems. Must have the ability to get along and communicate well with others. Must have the ability to read and interpret regulations. Must have a working knowledge of computer and office software.
Additional Considerations
A general knowledge of higher education payment methods and financial aid is desirable.
