Job Description Full-time Job Announcement
Position: Director of Information Technology
Location: Athens Campus
Department: Information Technology
Reports to: Associate Vice President of Information Technology & Facilities
Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of 6 IT professionals across helpdesk, systems administration, network operations, and cybersecurity functions.
• Handles departmental budget planning and acquisition of new hardware and software.
• Oversee and enforce campus-wise cybersecurity policies and procedures in compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements in coordination with the Network Security Officer.
• Oversees installation of software and maintenance of appropriate licensing.
• Oversees configuration and installation of networking and printing equipment.
• Oversees activities related to database administration.
• Supports email, DNS, and web activities.
• Oversees the central point of contact for Banner managed services—assist MS as needed; follow up on MS tickets.
• Collaborate with faculty on instructional technology needs and classroom technology upgrades. Researches and makes recommendations for computer equipment orders.
• Oversees support and refreshes for all audiovisual equipment.
• Ensures systems are backed up and recoverable.
• Monitors the activities of personnel to ensure compliance with TCSG policy manual and department procedures.
• Establish technology roadmaps and long-term strategic plans to support emerging educational technologies and research computing needs.
• Drive digital transformation projects including learning management system upgrades, student information system implementations, and campus-wide wireless infrastructure improvements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field *and* Five (5) years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with the following technologies: VMware vCenter, NetApp storage, Cisco UCS, Cisco VOIP, network security, network IDS/IPS, Microsoft O365, Cisco routing and switching, and SQL report writing.
