POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Superintendent of Operations oversees maintenance, custodial, and grounds services; student transportation; facility planning and construction; the school nutrition program; safety and energy conservation; Technology Infrastructure Services; and facility use and rental services. This role involves providing information and serving as a resource to others, achieving objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing, and maintaining services in line with established guidelines. Additionally, this position serves as a member of the Superintendent's Cabinet and the District's Leadership Team.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint
• Background Clearance
• Valid Georgia Driver's License
WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Five (5) years' demonstrated experience in school operations, funding, planning, and facility design, construction and maintenance

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Collaborates with internal and external personnel (administrators, auditors, public agencies, etc.) to implement and maintain services and programs.
• Directs department operations and implements new programs/processes (site repairs, preventive maintenance, etc.) to provide timely services and ensure compliance.
• Facilitates meetings and workshops to identify issues, develop recommendations, support staff, and represent the District.
• Inspects services and projects (construction, repairs, maintenance, etc.) to ensure efficient completion, regulatory compliance, and approve reports and payments.
• Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars to gather and convey information necessary for job functions.
• Performs personnel functions (interviewing, evaluating, supervising) to maintain adequate staffing, enhance productivity, and achieve objectives within budget.
• Prepares and monitors budgets to ensure accurate allocations, recorded revenues, controlled expenses, and adherence to fiscal practices.
• Prepares written materials (reports, memos, policies, budgets, etc.) to document activities, provide references, and convey information.
• Presents information (reports, analyses, updates) to communicate effectively, gain feedback, and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Research topics (new products, laws, regulations) to recommend purchases, contracts, and continuation of district-wide services.
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
