**Job Title: Neuro Intensive Care Unit Nurse (12-Hour Night Shift)**
**Position Overview:**
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse for a full-time 12-hour night shift position. This role is focused on providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced, acute care environment. Applicants should possess the ability to thrive under pressure, demonstrate exceptional nursing skills, and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit.
- Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, ensuring high standards of care and safety.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
- Track patient progress and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Participate in the orientation and education of new staff and nursing students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a relevant specialty, preferably in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit.
- Active certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
- Proven travel experience is required; charge nurse experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system is a plus.
- Active Virginia license or Compact License required.
- Acceptable declinations for COVID and flu vaccinations.
**Contract Details:**
- Shifts are 12 hours, primarily during the night, with assignments concluding on Saturdays.
- Orientation sessions occur bi-weekly on Mondays.
- Local candidates welcome; however, block scheduling cannot be accommodated.
- All requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted during the application process.
