The main purpose of this position is to support the administrative work of the School of Divinity (SOD) - available to assist when SOD leadership requests any support.
One of the main tasks of administrative support is assisting the Dean of the School of Divinity in day-to-day operations. This includes supporting the dean's role by keeping the calendar up to date with meetings and appointments, as well as any communication that needs to be distributed from the Dean's office to Faculty and Staff. Part of maintaining the day-to-day for the Dean's office also includes building relationships between other departments and their support teams.
Among the other tasks required, this position supports the Graduate Student Assistants as the Liaison between the Graduate School and the School of Divinity. This includes all hiring processes and communication, ensuring that all Graduate students are working well in the duties they are assigned and resolving any issues that may arise.
Furthermore, this position will handle all hiring processes and paperwork between the Dean's office and Human Resources as well as the Provost's office. This includes hiring new faculty, staff, and students as well as maintaining timesaver entries for all hourly staff and student workers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Provide administrative support to Administrative Leadership, specifically the Dean
2. Work with Human Resources and the Provost's office on all hiring paperwork
3. Ensuring all hourly employees have enter their hours correctly
4. Provide communication between the School of Divinity and Faculty/Staff
5. Oversee the Freedom Tower 8th floor conference room scheduling
6. Assist with department events, faculty meetings
7. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
5 years of administrative experience, institutional knowledge of Liberty and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and Blackboard required. Must have experience using Sharepoint and managing multiple projects simultaneously, as well as strong ability to work with and learn a variety of computer systems.
Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds. Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
