**Job Title: IMU Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift**
**Position Summary:**
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced IMU RN for a 12-hour night shift position. The ideal candidate will work with a diverse patient population, including those with medical-surgical needs, tele, cardiac IMCU acuity level conditions, neuro patients, and stroke (CVA) patients. Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced environment and contribute positively to the team culture.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide high-quality patient care to a varied population in an Intermediate Medical Unit (IMU).
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and care instructions.
- Perform advanced nursing interventions as required for high acuity patients.
- Document all patient care activities in accordance with established standards and hospital policy.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant nursing specialty.
- Current certifications in BLS and ACLS are mandatory.
- Prior travel nursing experience is required; charge experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records is advantageous.
- A valid Active VA or Compact License is required at the time of submission.
**Work Schedule:**
- Night shift: 12-hour shifts ending on Saturday.
- Orientation sessions held bi-weekly on Mondays.
- Flexible scheduling of 2 to 3 weekends per month based on unit needs.
**Additional Information:**
- Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are now accepted.
- Must provide all requests for time off (RTO) at the time of submission.
- Candidates may be cancelled up to 36 hours prior to their assignment based on census needs.
- The hospital is a teaching facility, and the RN will be expected to engage positively with students and new hires.
