**Job Description: IMU RN – 12-Hour Day Shift**

**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced IMU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires a mix of medical-surgical, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA patient management. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care in a dynamic acute care environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, including medical-surgical and telemetry patients with varied acuity levels.
- Deliver high-quality care based on established nursing standards and evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with interprofessional teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and perform necessary medical procedures.
- Educate patients and their families about health management, discharge planning, and resources available.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a relevant nursing specialty, particularly in IMU or similar environments.
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Travel nursing experience is essential.
- Charge nurse experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system is a plus.
- Must possess an active Virginia or Compact RN license at the time of application.
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application.
**Work Schedule:**
- This is a 12-hour day shift position with assignments concluding on Saturday.
- Orientation sessions are conducted bi-weekly on Mondays.
- The RN will typically work 2 to 3 weekends per month, based on unit needs.
- The start dates for this role include 9/8 and 9/22.
**Additional Information:**
- Flexibility is required, as the client may cancel assignments up to 36 hours in advance due to patient census.
- Team members will frequently interact with students and new hires, fostering a culture of support and mentorship within the teaching hospital.
