**Job Title: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Thoracic ICU (Night Shift)**
**Job Description:**
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Registered Nurses to join our Cardiac Thoracic Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team for 12-hour night shifts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in caring for cardiac and thoracic patients, including those recovering from open-heart surgery.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Thoracic ICU.
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, and implement care plans based on their specific needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Operate advanced medical equipment, including but not limited to vital signs machines, IV pumps, chest tubes, and ECG monitors.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families about post-operative care and rehabilitation processes.
- Uphold all safety standards and infection control protocols, including the handling of COVID-19 and flu vaccinations.
**Qualifications:**
- Current RN license.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of critical care nursing experience, preferably in a teaching facility.
- Prior travel nursing experience is required.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Certification must be current.
- Experience with open-heart surgery recovery, including ECMO, Impella, LVAD, IABP, CRRT, myocardial infarction (MIs), and congestive heart failure (CHF) management.
- Ability to handle a dynamic work environment and contribute to a supportive culture, particularly with students and new hires.
**Additional Information:**
- All nurses must submit credentialing documents one week before the start date.
- Remote tele-capable tools and patient monitoring systems are part of the unit's operation.
- Candidates must be willing to comply with the COVID / Flu vaccine requirement or submit an acceptable declination.
