**Job Title: Cardiac Step Down Registered Nurse (RN) - 12 Hour Night Shift**
**Job Description:**
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-hour night shift position in a Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit (CIMU). This role is designed for professionals with a strong background in cardiac nursing, offering 48-hour work weeks with a focus on patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
**Responsibilities:**
- Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac patients in a step-down unit, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, utilizing advanced equipment and technology.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV therapy and wound care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Assist in the training and support of new hires and nursing students, contributing to a culture of learning and support.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation according to hospital policies.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a similar cardiac care setting.
- Current and active ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications required.
- Valid VA or Compact nursing license at the time of submission.
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system is preferred.
- Previous travel nursing experience highly desirable.
- Proficient in using medical equipment including vital signs machines, IV pumps, SCDs, and oxygen delivery devices.
**Patient Population:**
- This role primarily supports cardiac CIMU acuity level patients.
**Additional Information:**
- This opportunity has a start date every other Monday with specific dates outlined.
- All credentialing must be completed at least one week prior to the start date.
- Requests for time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved beforehand.
- Must be willing to float as needed based on unit demands.
