Job Description Full-Time Job Announcement
Position: Paralegal Studies Instructor
Location: Athens Campus
Department: Division of Business, Industry, and Technology
Reports to: Dean of Business, Industry, and Technology
Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefit package.

Responsibilities:
• Under general supervision, instruct students in Paralegal Studies skill areas.
• Follow state standards in developing program and course outlines, goals, and objectives.
• Develops syllabi to meet program and school objectives.
• Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
• Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares required budget requests.
• Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate.
• Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
• Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences.
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
• Respond in a timely manner to administrative requests.
• Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
• Demonstrate strong time management and organization skills.
• Demonstrate effective written and oral communication.
• Contribute to the writing of accreditation and assessment reports.
• Demonstrate general computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
• Juris Doctorate or Master’s Degree in Law or Legal Studies with work experience as a paralegal.
• Three (3) years of work experience in a position related to supervising the work of paralegals.
• Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Four (4) years’ experience in a position related to supervising the work of paralegals.
• Admitted to practice law in Georgia.
• Previous experience with ABA approval for Paralegal Studies Programs.
• Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.
• Previous online teaching or training experience, including the use of video capture tools.
