Quality Assurance Manager
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager to lead regulatory and QA efforts. This is a critical leadership role in a vertically integrated operation that prioritizes cleanliness, animal welfare, and regulatory excellence.
Candidates without prior experience in meat, poultry, food, or live animal operations will not be considered.
What You’ll Do
● Lead and manage the QA and Food Safety department, ensuring full compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, and internal SOPs.
● Maintain and continuously improve programs including SOPs, SSOPs, GMPs, HACCP, and animal welfare protocols.
● Serve as the primary liaison with USDA inspectors and third-party auditors, maintaining audit readiness at all times.
● Collaborate with production, HR, and maintenance to embed food safety into all aspects of operations.
● Coach and develop QA team members while promoting a culture of accountability and cleanliness.
Who You Are
● Minimum 5 years of QA leadership experience in meat, poultry, or live animal processing - no exceptions.
● Deep knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, USDA regulatory requirements, and food labeling.
● Proven track record managing USDA-inspected facilities, audits, and detailed QA documentation.
● Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the operation.
Preferred (But Not Required):
● Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.
● Hold a degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
● Are familiar with GFSI audits, animal welfare inspections, and the nuances of vertically integrated food systems.
● Have hands-on experience in both plant floor environments and high-level QA strategy.
Position Details
● Salary: $130,000–$150,000, based on experience
● Employment Type: Full-time, exempt
● Some travel between facilities may be required
