General Information Work Location: 2411 Tallevast Road, Sarasota, Florida 34243 Work Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Expected Starting Hourly Range: $25.56 - $31.95 This classification performs responsible technical and professional work in the area of transit planning, including grant administration, statistical analyses related to ridership and route planning, and report generation for County, State, and Federal requirements. Work requires considerable interaction with other entities, counties, cities, etc. Working Conditions Indoor/outdoor situation; high noise environment while performing certain responsibilities. Lifting equipment up to 50 lbs. alone; up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Job Description Essential Functions These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. Prepares grant applications for various federal and state grant programs; manages active grants and prepares related required reports. Monitors Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and State (Florida Department of Transportation and Transportation Disadvantaged Commission) grant requirements and programs. Attends various Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and other related meetings as the Division's representative. Prepares various Federal and State required reports. Prepares and monitors transportation operator contracts. Researches, collects, and analyzes data pertaining to ridership and operational data, along with various fiscal, contractual, policy and analysis data. Communicates clearly and effectively, orally and in writing. Reads and interprets maps and other GIS related information. Performs other related work (including weather or other extreme emergency duties) as required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in engineering, urban planning, business administration, public administration, or related field. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in transit planning, transportation disadvantaged planning, or similar field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. More Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Skill in use of personal computers, including spreadsheet applications.
