Position Title: Hospitality Support Specialist
Reporting Department: Hospitality
Reporting Supervisor: Hospitality Manager
Location: Main Building
Status: Non-Exempt, Part Time
Organizational Function: Front Line Staff
PURPOSE: Provide flexible operational support across all hospitality functions including food service preparation, event coordination assistance, and administrative support. Ensure seamless operations through adaptable coverage of kitchen duties, client communications, and event logistics as departmental needs require.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years’ experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service environments
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work in varied operational areas
• Show basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software systems
• Maintain strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Possess excellent communication and customer service skills with professional demeanor for client and vendor interactions
• Display distinguished experience with food preparation and kitchen operations necessary

JOB DUTIES:
• Acquire and maintain ServSafe Manager certification and uphold all standards for food preparation, holding, service, kitchen cleanliness & organization, and ordering/receiving procedures.
• Acquire and maintain Alcohol and Tobacco Commission Server Certification and comply with all state and local laws.
• Execute food preparation tasks including menu prep, cooking assistance, and kitchen organization in accordance with ServSafe guidelines and hospitality department standards.
• Maintain monthly inventory of food, beverage, and event products and develop/maintain PAR levels of designated pantry items as outlined by Hospitality Manager.
• Maintain event spaces and keep equipment in proper working condition.
• Assist with catering service during events when needed.
• Support signature event execution, including serving as catering staff when necessary.
• Work with Hospitality Manager to support marketing initiatives for Minnetrista space rentals.
• Maintain positive, supportive interdepartmental working relationships, and foster an inclusive team atmosphere.
• Assist Hospitality Events Specialist with event coordination, setup, tear down and day-of logistics, client communications, and vendor liaison support including order coordination and delivery management.
• Assist Hospitality Manager with budget tracking, vendor relationship management, and client development to secure new rental engagements.
• Provide backup coverage for Hospitality Events Specialist and Hospitality Manager duties during absences.
• Perform all other duties as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position will be scheduled for up to 29 hours a week on average. A successful candidate will demonstrate significant work hour flexibility as it will vary and include daytime hours with evenings and weekends depending on the event calendar. Position will work in a combined office and event space environment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and traverse 40-acre campus. Position requires extended periods of standing during events.
