About this oppurtunity:
Schedule/Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, Salaried
This position is responsible for:
Planning, coordinating, administering, monitoring, and supervising the employee personnel program for the Area Command including the Corps (church) and Social Services functions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervises the work of the Human Resources staff related to the day-to-day operations of the office.

Manages the functions of planning, preparing, updating, and monitoring personnel records; inputting data and generating various personnel reports and lists,  submitting appropriate forms to Divisional Headquarters for Divisional Finance Board approval, and maintaining copies of all documents in transit until originals are returned for each employee’s permanent file.
• Ensures Criminal Background reports are obtained on all qualifying employees.
• Monitors and ensures completion of 90 day and annual evaluations by supervisors and department heads; calculates pay increases and works with  Area Commander, Director of Operations and Finance Director on the budget as it relates to pay increases for the fiscal year.

Plans, develops, and conducts a recruitment program calculated to maintain a superior work force in the Command through job posting, advertising, interviewing, reference verification, testing, and new employee orientation; establishes standard recruiting and replacement practices and procedures; directs all phases of the hiring process to ensure compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Plans, develops, and updates the local appendix to the Territorial Employee Manual and works with Divisional Headquarters for final approval.
• Interprets personnel policies and ensures compliance with The Salvation Army’s policy/procedures.
• Ensures compliance and administration of FMLA, ADA, STD, Workers Compensation and other employee benefit programs.
• Maintains oversight of disciplinary process and ensures equity and consistency in the application of employee disciplinary procedures.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
• Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.

Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

What we are looking for in you:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources or a related field, and
• Five years’ experience managing human resources functions in an organization with 100 plus employees, or
• any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
