The Apprentice assists in providing a high level of technical support for their assigned business unit. This includes understanding and documenting the business processes, reporting and analysis of data, working on projects, improving business processes using available tools, and more.
The QA Engineer Apprentice is an entry-level role that assists with manual testing, defect reporting, and test documentation while gradually gaining independence. This position prepares individuals to manage basic testing responsibilities independently and supports QA Engineers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Provides support to the assigned team by assisting with technical issues and completing tasks as directed by team leadership. Performs manual testing accurately and efficiently under the guidance of senior QA Engineers or team leads. Assists in documenting defects clearly, including steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual results, and relevant screenshots or logs. Reviews product requirements and user stories to gain a clear understanding of the test scope and purpose. Participates in team meetings, sprint planning, and QA walkthroughs to learn team processes and priorities. Learns and uses QA tools such as Jira, Playwright, and version control platforms. Seeks feedback and guidance from mentors to improve testing skills and understanding of QA best practices.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies • Working on a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of software testing principles.
• Willingness to learn automation fundamentals.
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
