Payroll Clerk
Job Summary
To accurately maintain the payroll records for School Board employees; to prepare the monthly payroll for School Board employees; and to assist the Payroll Officer in the areas pertaining to employee payroll.
Essential Duties
• Receives and computes all payrolls, preparing deductions for income tax, retirement, annuities, health, medical insurance and other School Board approved programs.
• Prepare reports and checks for the proper agencies covering all deductions.
• Maintains all payroll record tax forms, employee leaves and absences, and verifies all employee payroll disbursements.
• Maintains and files all records pertaining to employee benefits, verifying changes and updating employee records.
• Receives and verifies certificates of absence from various departments.
• Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the Principal may assign.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills And/or Abilities Required)
Must be a high school, business, or commercial school graduate; and five (5) years of experience in payroll processing is required. Key boarding and data entry skills are essential. Extensive knowledge of computer operations and computer applications, specifically spreadsheets and Microsoft word documents. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
