About this oppurtunity:
Schedule/Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, Salaried
This position is responsible for:
Planning, developing, managing, and controlling the day-to-day operations of the accounting and finance department for the Area Command; serves as liaison and financial advisor to the local unit, Advisory Boards, Divisional Headquarters, and Territorial Headquarters by reporting the financial status and researching financial discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee, supervise, and monitor all accounting and bookkeeping work performed by finance staff: assign duties, train on proper methods and procedures, review work for accuracy and completeness, conduct performance evaluations, and make recommendations for hiring, termination, and salary adjustments.
• Develop, prepare, and manage operating budgets: gather financial data from department heads, review with the Operations Program Director and/or Area Commander, and present final budgets to the Advisory Board and Divisional Headquarters.
• Oversees management tracking and financial reporting of all grants and contracts.
• Oversee the reconciliation and maintenance of all bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of fiscal closing statements, reports, and all general ledger reconciliations; prepare and post necessary correcting entries monthly.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
•
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
•
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

What we are looking for in you:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or a relate field, and
• Five years progressively responsible experience performing complex and varied accounting and bookkeeping functions for an organization with at least two years in a supervisory capacity, or
• any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
