Deputy Sheriff
The Lynchburg Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for part-time Deputy Sheriff position(s). These positions are part-time with an hourly pay rate of $25 per hour for certified applicants.  Non-certified applicant hourly pay rate is the current minimum wage until the DCJS certification process has been successfully completed. Applicants must be a U. S. citizen, have a High School Diploma or G.E.D., and have a valid Virginia driver’s license.  A current Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services Certification in Basic Jailer or Law Enforcement is preferred. Applicants are subject to a background investigation as well as a personal criminal history check.  Application for employment can be completed online at https://www.lynchburgva.gov/human-resources or www.lynchburgva.gov/sheriffsoffice .   Applications may also be picked up and returned to the Lynchburg Sheriff’s Office located at 907 Clay Street in Lynchburg, Virginia 24504.
