Driver - Part-Time

Position Summary
The Hill School is seeking a reliable and responsible Driver - Part-Time to join its transportation team on an as-needed basis. The primary responsibility of this role is to safely transport Hill School students, faculty, and staff to various destinations. This includes short local trips as well as longer-distance travel to locations in New York City and Philadelphia. The ideal candidate will be safety-minded, have a clean driving record, and feel confident operating school-owned vans over extended distances. Anticipated start date is August 18, 2025.
Responsibilities
• The successful candidate will have a clean driving record and practice safe driving.
• Experience and demonstrated success working with diverse student communities is preferred but not required.
• Safely operate a Hill School van while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Promptly report any mechanical issues or vehicle concerns.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure it remains in good operating condition.
• Transport passengers or items to assigned locations as scheduled.
• Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle when necessary.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment or packages, if required.
• Accurately complete required documentation including mileage logs, fuel usage, and trip reports.
• Maintain open and courteous communication with dispatch, supervisors, passengers, and others.
• Report any delays, accidents, or safety incidents promptly.
• Follow all emergency procedures and adhere to school policies.
• Maintain basic knowledge of first aid procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall success and mission of the institution.
Qualifications
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Strong familiarity with traffic laws and safe driving practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively and follow schedules.
• Previous experience operating vans or similar vehicles is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with navigation tools and technology.
• Ability to lift and carry items if needed.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods and drive in all weather conditions.
