Food & Beverage | Special Events Manager
The Food and Beverage | Special Event Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our dining room operations, and special events. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of special events, including weddings, banquets, corporate functions, and social gatherings. Ensuring exceptional service and an unforgettable dining experience for our members and guests. This is a key leadership role that requires strong managerial skills, exceptional customer service, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to delivering excellence while creating memorable experiences.
Responsibilities:

4. Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategies to enhance member satisfaction and retention.
5. Manage and supervise all dining room operations, banquet, turn house, and lounge.
6. Responsible for staff scheduling and managing the labor, minimizing the overtime for front of the house and temporary service professionals following the budget guidelines.
7. Review and approve front of the house, and temporary service professional’s payroll.
8. Develop, maintain, and update a complete restaurant, banquet, lounge, and turn-house AM and PM staff checklist.
9. Able to interview, train and hold accountable culinary, utility, and temporary service professionals.
10. Ensure the highest standards of service are always maintained, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for members and guests.
11. Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage to develop and update menus, ensuring a diverse and appealing selection of food and beverages.
12. Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storage of all dining room and beverage supplies.
13. Properly code the invoices (beverages, cleaning supplies, paper/plastic, dining supplies, and 3rd party monthly agreements) daily based on the proper accounting guidelines.
14. Develop and implement effective beverage cost control measures, including portion control, inventory management, and supplier negotiations.
15. Ensure weekly purchases of goods, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost control.
16. Responsible for updating and maintaining the club inventory management system for Beverage. (Beer, Wine, Liquor, Mixers)
17. Responsible for completing the weekly inventory spot checks and goods to ensure proper availability for a seamless operation.
18. Responsible for conducting monthly inventory of all beverages, dining room cleaning supplies, and dining paper and plastic supplies and providing the final report to the director of food and beverage and The Club controller.
19. Responsible for controlling and reporting the monthly beverage (Beer, Wine, Liquor, Mixers) waste, and beverage menu tasting costs to the director of food and beverage and The Club Controller.
20. Analyze beverage (Beer, Wine, Liquor) costs and profitability, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize financial performance.
21. Responsible for the “Club Beverage Book” update per latest stock availability and most updated invoice purchase price.
22. Responsible for maintaining/updating the “Club Point of Sales System” with new menu items or revisions to the existing items.
23. Monitor and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and safe dining environment.
24. Develop and implement strategies to enhance member and guest satisfaction, actively seeking feedback and addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
25. Work closely with the vendors to plan and execute special events, including weddings, banquets, corporate functions, and social gatherings.
26. Manage the dining room budget, controlling costs and maximizing revenue opportunities.
27. Plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of special events at the golf club, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for clients and guests.
28. Collaborate with clients to understand their event requirements, including themes, budgets, and guest expectations.
29. Develop event proposals, including detailed timelines, budgets, and layouts, ensuring all client needs and preferences are met.
30. Coordinate with various departments, including golf, and lodging to ensure all event logistics are in place.
31. Source and manage external vendors, such as decorators, florists, and entertainment, to enhance the event experience.
32. Oversee event setup and breakdown, ensuring all elements are executed according to the client's specifications.
33. Provide exceptional customer service throughout the event planning process, promptly addressing any client concerns or requests.
34. Conduct site visits and tours for potential clients, showcasing the golf club's event spaces and amenities.
35. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance the event experience.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Dining Room Manager or similar role within the hospitality industry.
2. In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and cost control.
3. Exceptional leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
4. Strong customer service orientation, with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with members, guests, and staff.
6. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
7. Proficient in using restaurant management software and point-of-sale systems.
8. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
9. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field.
2. Certification in Food Safety and Sanitation.
3. Previous experience in a high-end or fine dining establishment.
