Workforce Education Program Manager
Job Summary: Swimming pool contractors are required to obtain 14 hours of continuing education credits during each two-year renewal cycle by the state of Florida. FSPA is an approved provider of continuing education through the state and currently offers around 100 different courses to industry professionals throughout the year, including at our annual tradeshow. These courses require maintenance and updating, new instructors and there is new course development needed.
This role must develop a solid understanding of the swimming pool industry in order to be successfully responsible for the administration of state approved continuing education courses and certification programs. They will also work with instructors and volunteers to develop new courses, and maintain existing course material relevance. This individual will create workforce development programming and administer and grow participation in the state approved apprenticeship program. They will also participate in our annual tradeshow development and course offerings, scheduling, as well as attend the show and ensure the success of our educational courses during the tradeshow timeline.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide professional adult education consultation and leadership with the goal of providing the best quality content and programming
• Maintain providership with the CILB and other state organizations as required; process continuing education credits for submission to the state
• Develop new continuing education courses and update and renew existing continuing education courses
• Create and maintain an online course
• Work with industry professionals to cultivate new instructors
• Manage committees and provide support for committee meetings and conference calls
• Manage all communications with speakers from sending speaker invitations, gathering bios, photos, and session syllabi to maintain compliance with deadlines and presentation needs
• Manage certification courses including manual and workbook production; coordination of event(s); instructor management; collection of fees; processing of tests and certificates
• Manage and grow participation in both the workforce development and apprenticeship programs within the state college approved guidelines
• Explore developing revenue producing programs that have measurable value to the membership
• Explore opportunities for online and virtual education programs and set timelines for implementation
• Provide guidance to education administrative support staff on educational programming work
• Other duties as assigned
Required Competencies and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Two years of experience in project management
• Two years of nonprofit experience, preferably in a 501c6 membership association
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent communications skills with a customer service focus
• Ability to work with a team and build relationships
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to travel within the state of Florida; with occasional work evenings and weekends
• Understand and uphold FSPA’s code of ethics and mission of advancing Florida’s swimming pool industry.
• Organized with attention to detail
