Our multidisciplinary team of licensed professionals offers both secure virtual therapy and in-person recovery services. We operate our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) to support those navigating substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Substance Abuse Counselor at our upcoming new location in Bedford, VA. Training will take in Roanoke, Virginia. The Substance Abuse Counselor will be responsible for implementing treatment plans, and providing chemical dependency group counseling. Daily tasks include conducting facilitating group, submitting progress notes, and supporting clients with mental health needs. Counselors will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
We utilize the researched based Hazeldon Betty Ford Curriculum for our PHP and IOP groups. This curriculum ensures that all clients are receiving researched backed interventions and counselors do not have to pre-plan the intervention and materials for their groups, as it is already done for them.
Qualifications
• Treatment Planning and Case Management skills
• Experience in Chemical Dependency and Relapse Prevention or willingness to learn
• Strong Mental Health counseling skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• Licensed or certified in substance abuse counseling (e.g., LCSW, LPC, CSAC) preferred
• Experience with both virtual and in-person therapy is a plus
• Bachelor's Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is required
• Bachelor's Degrees in other disciplines will be considered, and training can be provided
