3rd Shift Welder B (Welder Fabricator)
Summary
This role involves the fabrication and welding of primarily stainless steel components and assemblies to precise specifications, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will have MIG and TIG welding experience and the ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings accurately.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform MIG/TIG welding on primarily stainless steel materials, including sheet, plate, screens, pipe, and tubing.
• Fabricate stainless steel components and assemblies according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Set up, operate, and maintain welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
• Measure, cut, fit, and tack weld parts with precision.
• Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.
• Grind, polish, and finish stainless steel surfaces to required appearance.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support production and shop operations.
Requirements
• Minimum 1-2 years of steel MIG/TIG welding and fabrication experience.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of welding techniques and finishing processes.
• Ability to work with tight tolerances and deliver high-quality, aesthetic welds.
• Skilled in using fabrication tools such as saws, shears, brakes, grinders, and polishing equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs and perform physical tasks required in fabrication and welding.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to certify to ASME Section IX and AWS D1.1.
