Chief Financial Officer
Position Overview
As a key executive team member, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will provide financial management and stewardship, strategic oversight, and executive leadership to eComSystems, LLC and Virtus Health, LLC. This role is responsible for managing the financial health and practices of both companies, overseeing financial operations, driving business growth, ensuring compliance, and fostering a culture of transparency and accountability. The CFO will partner with senior leadership to develop and implement the financial strategy, support key business decisions, and guide the organizations through periods of growth and operational efficiency. This executive-level position demands uncompromising ethics, trust, integrity, and the ability to navigate complex financial landscapes, while ensuring the achievement of short-term and long-term corporate objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
● Partner with the CEO and executive team to drive corporate strategy, aligning financial goals with broader business objectives and market opportunities.
● Provide leadership and guidance on financial matters to influence decision-making at the highest levels of the organization.
● Lead the development of the company’s long-term financial strategy, capital structure, and business forecasts.
● Drive financial analysis and performance metrics to assess and recommend actions for profitability optimization and operational efficiency.
● Ensure that financial considerations are integrated into corporate strategy, mergers, acquisitions, and key business initiatives.
Operational Oversight & Financial Management
● Oversee all aspects of accounting, financial operations, and reporting for both eComSystems and Virtus Health, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
● Manage, create, maintain, and enforce a robust system of internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting procedures across the organization.
● Provide executive oversight for the budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning process, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholder expectations.
● Oversee cash flow management, ensuring the company maintains optimal liquidity and effective use of capital, including funding strategies, financial relationships, and debt management.
● Supervise financial and accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reporting, and financial reconciliations, ensuring that all processes are accurate, timely, and comply with regulatory standards.
● Advise and manage investment strategies for company profits.
● Ensure the effective management of financial risks, including currency, credit, and operational risks, through sound risk management practices.
Reporting, Analysis, & Performance Metrics
● Lead the production of comprehensive and timely financial statements, management reports, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to provide transparency and actionable insights for the leadership team.
● Provide in-depth financial analysis to guide executive decision-making on pricing, cost reduction strategies, capital investments, and business development.
● Establish and manage a financial benchmarking process to assess performance against industry standards and financial goals.
● Oversee the development and execution of annual budgets and forecasts, with regular variance analysis to ensure that financial performance aligns with business expectations.
● Provide timely and accurate reporting to financial institutions, partnerships, and supporting entities.
Compliance, Governance, & Risk Management
● Lead the compliance efforts by ensuring that financial operations adhere to relevant regulatory, accounting, tax, and industry standards.
● Oversee the preparation for and coordination of external audits, ensuring all financial records and activities meet statutory and contractual obligations.
● Monitor debt levels, credit facilities, and debt covenants, ensuring that the companies are well-positioned to maintain financial stability and access to capital.
● Advise on legal, tax, financial risks and mitigation strategies to safeguard the long-term liquidity and viability of the businesses.
● Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including timely and accurate tax filings and reporting.
Leadership, Team Development & Corporate Culture
● Lead and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team, setting clear goals and expectations with clear communication while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
● Promote cross-departmental collaboration, ensuring that financial goals are integrated with operations, HR, marketing, and other key business functions.
● Cultivate a culture of ethical conduct, integrity, and accountability, setting the tone for financial discipline throughout the organization.
● Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members, while aligning their growth with the company’s goals.
● Support the company’s broader organizational culture initiatives, ensuring that financial policies and decisions reflect the company's values.
Investor & Stakeholder Relations
● Serve as the primary liaison between the company and investors, creditors, and other financial stakeholders.
● Communicate financial performance, trends, and strategy to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and fostering trust.
● Lead discussions and negotiations related to fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
● Assist in the preparation and presentation of investor relations materials, ensuring that financial narratives are clear and aligned with the company’s vision and performance.
Strategic Oversight of Key Business Initiatives
● Provide strategic financial input for corporate expansion efforts, including mergers, acquisitions, and new market entries.
● Oversee pricing strategies, financial modeling, and capital investment proposals to support strategic business growth and operational efficiency.
● Interface with and provide direction for purchasing and procurement personnel and strategies.
● Evaluate and recommend strategic business opportunities, including partnerships, investments, and innovative financial models.
Qualifications
● Education: Post-graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, such as a Master's in Business Administration (MBA). Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is highly preferred.
● Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in an executive leadership role (CFO, VP of Finance) for organizations generating at least $20 million in annual revenue.
● Proven Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams while managing complex financial operations in a multi-entity environment.
● Relationship Development & Management: Experienced establishing and managing financial relationships with commercial lenders, financial partners, investment organizations, and supporting entities, such as current CPAs and banking relationships.
● Industry Knowledge: Extensive experience with financial strategy, audits, accounting principles, corporate finance, risk management, understanding and development of financial reporting, experience or understanding of both the tech and healthcare sectors is a plus.
● Strong Analytical & Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to present complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders and lead high-level strategic discussions.
● Ethics & Integrity: A strong commitment to ethics, confidentiality, and accountability, ensuring trust with ownership, executive leadership, board members, employees, and external stakeholders.
Working Hours & Location
• This is a full-time, salaried position based at the corporate headquarters in Sarasota, Florida, and will report to the CEO. The CFO will be expected to travel occasionally to other company locations, for meetings, and other necessary business engagements. Flexibility for weekend or evening work may be required, particularly during financial reporting or strategic planning periods.
