The Donor Experience Officer (DXO) leverages relationship-building skills with a genuine desire to help people connect their passions with their philanthropy at Liberty University. DXO's will manage a portfolio of donors, with clear metrics and goals for outreach, donor meetings, dollars brought in, donor count and pipeline growth. The DXO will successfully accomplish this through their collaboration with other departments (including Marketing and Communications, Alumni Relations and Development) to effectively execute 1:1 outreach campaign's using technology resources. The DXO team will play a critical role in developing a sustainable giving pipeline for the future.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Successfully achieve annual fundraising and engagement goals by actively engaging with and building relationships with a portfolio of prospects and donors.
2. Leverage technology including but not limited to social media platforms and video conferencing tools to build rapport, steward and solicit donors in a personalized and donor-centric, targeted and high-velocity manner.
3. Strengthen LU's partnership with donors through donor-centric strategies and outreach to effectively move them through the giving pipeline.
4. Execute monthly and quarterly touchpoint cadences across portfolio to ensure consistent and relevant donor communication.
5. Utilize dashboard tools, data analytics and partner with internal colleagues to identify donors for targeted outreach. Build relationships across the University campus to be able to connect donors with relevant campus partners.
6. Be knowledgeable of engagement and philanthropic opportunities across Liberty University (regional, alumni events, on-campus events, volunteer opportunities, fundraising priorities, etc.) for the purpose of informing conversations and solicitations.
7. Aid in outreach and follow-up for events and activities on behalf of Alumni Relations and Development.
8. Proactively monitor engagement to identify and launch initiatives that drive donations.
EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
Build ongoing relationships with donors through phone calls, letters/cards, video meetings, and emails.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
2. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills across mediums,
especially email, video and video conferencing.
3. Strong knowledge of customer care
4. Ability to inspire and share stories of impact verbally
5. Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
6. Strong ability to establish priorities and manage multiple demands and assignments.
4. Ability to articulate and defend the unique Christian educational mission and vision of
Liberty University and its subsidiaries to a wide variety of individuals and groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience in sales, or in a lead customer service position

Communication and Comprehension • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.
• Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
• Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business, government and community customers and associates.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Requires basic computer skills.
Problem Solving • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve problems of a routine nature.
Physical and Sensory Abilities • Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
• Regularly required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
• Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop to conduct business.
• Occasionally lift 10 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.
Driving Requirements
Occasional use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required during special events on or off campus.
