Academic Evaluators are responsible to maintain the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of academic records per federal guidelines via FERPA, Department of Education, and SACS accreditation. Academic Evaluators advise and assist students in the successful completion of their degree requirements. They uphold an accurate picture of degree progress and make the final recommendation for degree conferral. Annually, Academic Evaluators provide official evaluations and confer degrees for thousands of students across all campuses and levels of the University.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In accordance with federal guidelines, confer degrees within 30 days of final requirements being met. Uphold all published academic policies in the course catalog. Maintain a vast knowledge of past and present academic policies and degree requirements. Maintain clear and accurate communication with student emails and phone calls within 24-48 hours of receipt. Use problem-solving skills to assist with complex questions from students, parents, and other departments. Analyze student progress and serve as the final authority for degree requirements and degree completion. Process degree completion applications upon submission. Prepare graduation packets for audit, which include a final review of all degree requirements, prior to the conferral of a degree. Provide official evaluations of outstanding degree requirements to students through written documentation. Compare published DCPs with our Degree Completion Plan Audit tool to ensure accuracy with course and degree requirements. Process degree change requests (including double majors and minors) to ensure accuracy on a student's record. Assist other departments (such as Student Financial Services, Military Affairs, and Enrollment Management) with confirmation of student status toward degree completion. Assist the International Student Center with maintaining compliance of F-1 status and degree completion. Proactively contact students, who may be nearing degree completion, with an official evaluation of remaining requirements. Responsible for assisting with the training process for new hires. Occasionally required to assist with events outside of normal business hours, including but not limited to Commencement exercises.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree required. Strong computer skills required. Well-developed communications skills.
Preferred Experience
Minimum of one year experience in Registrar and academic functions. Fully proficient in all academic processes and regulations as they apply to students.
