Job Summary
Leads and facilitates the daily operations of the Operating Room. Supports and facilitates implementation of evidence-based practice and serves as a resource within Sarasota Memorial Health Care System for information, education and training for the Service Lines within their specialty area. Comprising the intraoperative phases of patient care responsibilities include supervising colleagues, staffing rooms appropriately, coordinating adjustments to the schedule with anesthesia, and proactively working with surgeons to expedite the surgery schedule safely and efficiently. Participates in room set-up, coordination of equipment and supplies, and room turnover. Acts as liaison between ASU and SPD and will work to anticipate and adjust schedule to avoid equipment conflicts between surgeons. The Clinical Lead OR Operations is a team of three and the team is responsible for department staffing/scheduling, policies and procedures for OR and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
• Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
• Require two (2) years of current satisfactory OR RN experience and one (1) year experience in specialty area.
• Require CNOR certification or within six (6) months of hire or promotion.

• Prefer demonstrated ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem solving expertise.
