Job Title: Manufacturing/Process Engineer
Job Description As a Manufacturing/Process Engineer, you will serve as a crucial link between the design team and the production floor. Your role involves developing new and enhancing existing composite structures in the composite bonding area. You will gain ownership of the manufacturing process for the structures you oversee and develop the skills necessary to communicate effectively with both business leaders and certified operators.
Responsibilities • Ensure adherence to engineering specifications, processes, and procedures for manufacturing carbon fiber reinforced composite structures, including process specifications, material specifications, and tooling design.
• Support the development and review of detailed cost models and cost-out concepts.
• Facilitate the introduction of new products into the manufacturing environment by evaluating manufacturability, cost estimates, and ROI for new designs.
• Develop tooling concepts and production methodology for automation cells.
• Contribute technical insights during business reviews.
Essential Skills • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Critical thinking skills to troubleshoot engineering issues affecting part quality, cost, and function.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with other functional groups and create engineering documentation.
• Familiarity with Solidworks and tooling design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in manufacturing and engineering technology is preferred but not required.
• Flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift.
Work Environment The role is based in a large, beautiful manufacturing plant located on the waterfront. The facility specializes in the production of cutting-edge aircraft components, serving renowned clients in the airline industry. The flagship product is the Nacelle/Thrust Reverser, a significant brake system for jet engines.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
