Are you interested in starting a career in diagnostic imaging? Our MRI Tech Aide (MRTA) certificate program is designed to educate and train individuals who are seeking to enter the field of MRI.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will receive a certificate and be prepared to start a career as an MRI Tech Aide or MRI Tech Assistant.
Position Overview
The MRI Tech Aide provides onsite support between the virtual MRI Technologists (VRT) and the patient, ensuring that MRI exams run smoothly and safely. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in a growing area of healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
• Complete thorough MRI safety screenings and clearance for all patients
• Prepare exam rooms, including setting up the table, selecting the correct MRI coil, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment
• Accurately position patients and landmark the appropriate body part for imaging
• Record and input patient history and exam details into PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
• Provide calm, supportive communication to patients throughout their visit
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• At least 1-2 years of healthcare experience preferred (service industry experience also considered)
• Preferred healthcare backgrounds as: Medical Assistant, Dental Hygienist, Occupational Therapists, Radiology Assistants, or other Allied health professionals
